You already know today is going to be hard. You came anyway, and that takes something.
About 10 minutes with Steven Webb's calm voice. Perfect for the morning.
You move through the day from the heart rather than the head, because the head is quick and the heart has a few thousand years on it. Some of the faces you meet are part of what makes today difficult. Every one of them is doing the best they can with what they understand, which does not make them right. That includes you and me.

Thank you for sitting with me.

Who this is for
You already know today is going to be difficult. Something is in the diary you would rather not attend, or somebody is in it you would rather not meet.
You came anyway, and that takes something. This one starts by saying so.
What happens in this meditation
You settle, then put your attention on the heart and imagine a warm light there, growing with each breath until it fills the body.
Then you walk the day through from that place rather than from your head. Not all of it at once. The first step. Then the next scene.
Some of the faces you meet are part of what makes today hard. Everybody is doing the best they can from where they are, which does not make what they do right. That includes you, and it includes me.
It ends on three intentions, hand on the heart. I have all the wisdom and compassion to face whatever comes my way.
How to get the most from it
Ten minutes, and it belongs before the day starts rather than in the middle of it.
Take the breath with you. When it gets rough, breathe in calm, breathe out relax, and check whether you are answering from the head or the heart.
The reason for the heart is not sentiment. The head is quick, and the heart has a few thousand years on it.
Questions people ask
What if my visualisation of the day jumps around?
It will. That is what minds do and I say so during it. Come back and pick up wherever you are.
Does everyone doing their best mean I have to excuse them?
No. It means understanding what is underneath the behaviour, not agreeing with it. You can see somebody clearly and still hold them to account.
Can I use this later in the day?
You can, though it is built as a morning one. If the hard part is at three in the afternoon, this is better done at eight than at half past two.
