You stand in front of a mirror and the person looking back is the confident version. Not a stranger, just you with the volume up.
About 12 minutes with Steven Webb's calm voice. Perfect for the morning.
Notice the posture, notice what the eyes are doing. Then the lines, and you have to mean them. I believe in my abilities and decisions. I am worthy of respect and acceptance. Challenges are opportunities for growth. Confidence is not something we build from nothing. It is already in there being ignored.

Who this is for
Mornings where you are about to go and do something you do not feel up to.
You stand in front of a mirror and the person looking back is the confident version. Not a stranger, just you with the volume up.
What happens in this meditation
A new day, a fresh canvas, and you have the power to paint your own story. Then breath and body, and you feel the weight of yourself grounding you.
Then the mirror. Notice the posture. Notice what the eyes are doing. Notice the small, settled smile of somebody quietly proud of themselves.
Then the lines, said while holding that image, and you have to mean them. I am capable and strong. I believe in my abilities and decisions. I am worthy of respect and acceptance. Challenges are opportunities for growth.
Then breathing in confidence and breathing out whatever is holding you back.
Three to take with you. May I be confident. May I trust in myself. May I embrace the day with positivity.
How to get the most from it
Twelve minutes, sitting up, first thing.
Do it five or six mornings in a row rather than once. Confidence is not something you build from nothing. It is already in there being ignored, and this is repeated uncovering rather than construction.
Then use the three lines at the door. Hand on your heart, before you walk into the room you did not want to walk into.
Questions people ask
What if I do not believe the affirmations?
Say them and picture the mirror while you do. You are not being asked to convince yourself in one sitting. You are being asked to notice that version of you exists.
Is this pretending?
No. The confident one in the mirror is you, not an invention. Ask yourself when you last handled something well and you will find the evidence.
How long before it makes a difference?
A few days of doing it. What you notice is not a feeling in the meditation but how you carry yourself later in the day.
