Three minutes, sitting or standing, for the moment it has all got a bit much and you cannot leave the room.
About 3 minutes with Steven Webb's calm voice.
Let gravity have the weight of you. Notice you are already breathing. You are not the thoughts, and you are not the story about how today is going. Let this moment be enough, let yourself be enough, and then go back in.

Who this is for
Three minutes, for the moment it is too much and you cannot walk out of the room.
Overwhelmed, anxious, or just needing to put your feet back on the ground before the next thing starts.
What happens in this meditation
Hands wherever they fall. Notice you are already breathing, and do nothing about it.
Then let gravity have the weight of you. You do not relax the body. You let it, which is easier and works better.
Then one reminder. You are not your thoughts, and you are not the story about how today is going. You are here, and that is all.
Let this moment be enough. Let yourself be enough. Then back into it.
How to get the most from it
Three minutes, no imagery, and it works standing up with your eyes open.
Save it somewhere you can reach quickly. This is not one to plan for, it is one to grab.
Do it a few times when nothing is wrong, so it is already familiar by the time you need it in a hurry.
Questions people ask
Is three minutes long enough?
For getting your feet back under you, yes. It is not doing the same job as a longer sit and it is not trying to.
Can I do it with my eyes open?
Yes. There is nothing to picture, so keep them open if you are somewhere public or need to stay aware.
What if my mind wanders in three minutes?
It will. Bring it back and smile at it. That is not the practice going wrong, that is the practice.
