A short drop out of the head and into the heart, for the moment you are stuck in noise with nothing you can usefully solve.
Under 4 minutes with Steven Webb's calm voice.
You let the body settle, then move your attention down out of the thinking and into the chest. Quiet over the clutter, trust over control. It ends on three lines about resting in the wisdom of your heart, your breath and this moment, and then you are back.

Who this is for
Your head is going and there is nothing in front of you that thinking will fix.
This is a short drop out of the head and into the heart. Four minutes, and you can do it without leaving wherever you are.
What happens in this meditation
The body settles first, arms wherever they fall, breathing in calm and breathing out relax.
Then you move your attention downward, out of the thinking and into the chest, and things go quieter without you quieting them.
Then a choice, said plainly. Open heart over the noise. Quiet over the clutter. Trust over control.
It ends on three lines. May I rest in the wisdom of my heart. May I rest in the wisdom of my breath. May I rest in the wisdom of this moment.
How to get the most from it
Under four minutes, so it fits in almost any gap you have, including standing in a corridor.
The move itself is the useful part, and you can do it without me once you know it. Head to heart, in about two seconds.
Your mind will keep thinking during it. That is fine and expected. You are not asked to stop it, only to stop going with it.
Questions people ask
What if there is something I genuinely need to solve?
Solve it afterwards. This is for the state you are in, and you will make a better job of the problem from the other side of four minutes.
Is going to the heart not a bit vague?
It is a place to put your attention, and that is all it needs to be. Rest it in your chest rather than behind your eyes and notice what changes.
Is four minutes long enough to do anything?
For a reset, yes. This is not the deep sit. It is the one you actually use on a bad afternoon.
